Although the Congressional calendar is drawing to a close, the effort to craft positive nurse visa legislation continues to push forward, in spite of roadblock after roadblock.
The latest news is that on Tuesday September 23, the House Judiciary Committee expects to take up the twice-delayed HR 5924, along with other related immigration legislation. Even if the HJC passes the measure, it still needs to be voted on by the full House, and then voted on by the Senate. Therefore the odds of the legislation being passed this year are still long.
