USCIS announced special relief for any Japanese visitors or non-immigrant visa holders currently in the U.S. who are unable to return because of the recent earthquake and tsunami. For those who have exceeded their period of stay or who are about to exceed their stay, an extension of up to 30 additional days may be granted. Those affected are asked to make an appointment to visit the local USCIS office and present their passport, I-94 card, and proof of cancelled travel plans. If you require any assistance in scheduling an InfoPass appointment to obtain this relief, the Hammond Law Group would be happy to help you.
