VISA PROJECTIONS 12/10/09

The U.S. Department of State has issued the Visa Bulletin for January 2010. Although there is very little movement forward this month, the Department of State has issued some projections for the future.

Not surprisingly, the Department of State said some it is unlikely there will be any cut-offs in the First Preference Categories. China and India in the second preference category have the potential to become unavailable due to heavy demand.

The Department of State issued the following projections for movement during Fiscal Year 2010 (which ends September 30, 2010):

Second Preference Category:
* China: should process through October 2005 cases
* India: should process early March 2005 cases

Third Preference Category:
* Worldwide category: should process through August 2005 cases
* China: should process through September 2003 cases
* India: should process through February 2002 cases
* Mexico: should process through June 2004 cases
* Philippines: should process through August 2005 cases

This does not take into account cases that may be withdrawn or denied, which would create further movement for cases that remain in the pipeline.

These projections from the Department of State are based upon a combination of statistics that have been made available in the last few months, such as cases pending at the Department of Labor, cases pending at USCIS with approved I-140′s, and I-485 cases pending at USCIS.

These projections are very much consistent with what Hammond Law Group predicted at the Healthcare Symposium in early November. Hammond Law Group continues to believe the movement for third preference category from the Philippines will begin to see steady movement.

Wow!! This is great news I think as of now. Hoping that this will not be a prediction only. I've been waiting for 6 long years. My PD is 2004 and hoping really that a year will not again be added to my waiting time. Praying for the best for us NURSES…Goodluck to us all.

don't get your hopes up. they are very unstable and unreliable. take it with a grain of salt. just wait and see, continue your plans of improving your life and don't depend on USA, they can only break your dreams and hopes, adding to your frustrations.

As i always say, my response to them is, WHATEVER…

To Schedule A,
There's nothing wrong lifting our hopes up.That's the only way we can do for now, its true reaching US is far from reality yet as of now.But who knows, the world is round and miracles still do happens. Anyway hope is the only sword we have now and uplifting our hope is anyway free, so why not be positive everytime. GOOD LUCK TO US ALL.

US h1b and other working visa holders: Canada wants us =)

For more info:

The province of Alberta in particular has a streamlined process of us visa holders.

Alberta PNP Strategic Recruitment Stream
Applicants do not need a job offer to qualify under the following categories.

U.S. Visa Holder Category
This stream was designed for workers who are currently in the United States on temporary work visas (H1B, H1B1, H1C and E3). The applicant must have at least one year of work experience in the United States on one of these temporary work visas in an occupation that is listed as one of Alberta’s in-demand 0ccupations. The applicant must currently be working in a qualifying occupation. A job offer is not needed to qualify. Alberta will nominate successful applicants for Canadian Permanent Residency, thereby fast-tracking the immigration process.

no reason to get excited. the retrogression will be back in a wink. the reason is that there is massive unemployment in the USA. so it is still a NO GO situation. nurses, this not good news at all. don't all so excited because you are not probably going anywhere soon. it's just another FALSE ALARM and a MIRAGE. hope all august 2005 are processed first.

i totally agree with you icedragon…history repeat itself. this was also the situation that happened way back 1996 to 1999, then from 2005 to 2006….its called VISA BLACKOUT FOR SCHEDULE A PROFESSION……

The visas will run out again. Because there are so many jobless in America and there so many Phlippine nurses who have applied (more than half a million are standing in line).
Good luck to all August 2005 applicants, hope the buck stops after you.
