Charice! 04/16/09
A friend sent this video of the Philippine sensation, Charice, singing the Star Spangled Banner before the start of a Los Angeles Dodgers game. It is one of the most powerful renditions of the US National Anthem that you will ever hear or see. Since so many Philippine nationals visit this blog, and there are a lot of potential immigrants out there who think that

Hello HLG Team,
Can the Nurses expect a good news before the International Nurses Day. Please give some details on your expectations.
There were some comments by visitors of your blog that 5924 is going to be reintroduced next week. Do you have any information that you can share with the International RNs.
Has Madam Lofragen forgotten about her last years bill for recapturing 500,000 un-used visas?
I’m hesitant to speculate, but I know that it is being considered and would not be surprised to see it re-introduced shortly.

Last Year on April 8 HR5924 was Introduced since then it was never debated or could move outside the sub-committe. later the year ended with no action on that bill.
So there is no assurance that even if the bill get introduced it will ever pass or make any benefit to the aspirants.
Yes,
It is all speculations. But we need to understand the kaleidoscope of things in play here. Unemployment had not bottom out yet, there are still a lot issues that the Obama administration has to tackle before this issue will be given even just in a glance.
The dreaded one? CIR, and dont understimate the Hispanic Caucus now that the Democrats are in the helms, even the republicans did not able to lift a finger because of them much more now that they hold the reign.
To put it midly it is too complicated.
Unless the public will clamor that nurses will have to be brought in, this will not happen this year. Perhaps by 2010 or 2011. I think it is better to know the real situation than to think we are highly needed and yet ended frustrated, hopeless and desperate losers. I think its better to put it this way: they have problems that they have to solve first thing and foremost before we can say ok, we will have now have a chance and 5 years after that the chance to sing the star spangled banner with a naturalization papers in hand.
if charice pempengco is only a NURSE
Chris,
Does a loby group to follow up the retrogressio relief still exist? Also there is no update from AAIHR? Does such an organization exist or have all of them left everything to the congress to decide. The RNs were under the impression that you were part of the loby group
I’m hesitant to speculate, but I know that it is being considered and would not be surprised to see it reintroduced shortly.

At this point it is really hard to speculate but the effort of the HLG Team is doing, all I can say is I am looking forward for this.
I am not crossing my finger but I am praying so hard that the outcome of HLG Team effort will be seen shortly.
God bless to all.
Don’t give up! only miracle can change all of our speculations. And it is for the better.
Yeah, never give up if going to US is ye dream but then remember to not waste yuor time too.
Is it wasting a time if a person decide working for a time to his native land and he/she found a joy doing it while waiting to his/her american dream?
I am just wondering why other individual keep on pointing out it is wasting a time if you decide to hold your dream and decide to stay while waiting?
This is my point of view in my life;
Life is so short to be wasted however if you find happiness on the things and choices you have done i think it is not wasting a time.
Money is not the most important things in life but for me happiness and joy in our life.
I have Faith in God and to HLG. It is not Miracle we need but prayers. It can change everythings if God allows it.
God bless!!!
Nurses non-Immigrant Visa HR1001 introduced in Feb’09 by Shadegg is still in sub committee never was put on hearing until last 2Months neither it is making any news of being heard in near future seems it is gone in the trash bin. This is another example how keen US is in hiring of Foreign nurses.
I think it was made very clear from the very start that HR 1001 does not have support and is not expected to be taken up and passed.

Does HR5924 have support?
Base on HLG’s past blog entry, it is expected to have support.
