The Department of State has just released its February 08 Visa Bulletin. Some slight changes, but nothing significantly different than January. The major bad news is that India EB2 is now retrogressed and will remain retrogressed until October 1, 2008.

Here we go again on the visa bulletin. Nothing much change. We want the REAL CHANGE so we can have a real change in our life. Until when are we going to wait for the BIG CHANGE to happened in the nursing and P.T world?
I don’t see any major changes in the next few months.
Is it sure that there will be no change in next few months. I mean no chance of 61,000 visas? It’s really pathetic…
Dear friends here’s a piece of information.

Chamber of Commerce: no large immigration bill, but hopeful on visa increases
By Eunice Moscoso | Tuesday, January 8, 2008, 02:10 PM
Officials with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce said Tuesday that there is no chance for a major immigration re-haul bill in Congress this year, but that they hope to get increases in certain visa categories including the H-1B visa for highly educated foreign workers.
“We don’t expect comprehensive immigration reform in this session,” said Bruce Josten, executive vice president for government affairs for the Chamber, at a briefing with reporters.
He also said that Congress would likely consider “to some degree” an increase in H-1B visas, H-2A visas for agricultural workers, and H-2B visas for non-agricultural seasonal workers such as hotel workers.
Tom Donohoe, president and CEO of the group, added: “I don’t believe we can go forward without figuring out how to get seasoned workers so that we can run the resorts and the hotels and get the crops out of the fields in California and out West … and also get enough specialty visas, H-1 and others to be sure we have the technical workers we need.”
Donohoe also said that the business coalition would fight against “inappropriate immigration statutes” during the upcoming year.
The number of H-1B visas allowed by law has fluctuated in recent years in response to the U.S. economy and the highs and lows of the technology industry and is now set by Congress at 65,000. In addition, 20,000 more foreign citizens with advanced degrees from American universities are allowed to stay in work in the United States.
Critic say that the H-1B program depresses wages for American workers and has many flaws including limited enforcement mechanisms.

rumor says, visa won’t be available till 2009-10.
when exactly will it be available?
We just have to pray harder!!
Ritch, I don’t think anyone knows, It can happen tomoroow or it can never happen. I don’t think it will be soon, so 2010 to 2015 sounds about right.
so what’s their problem?they wont issue visas cause they dont want to.i hope they have a heart, atleast so.just a word on when exactly visas will be issued so that people can get on with their lives and not dwell on false hopes.
Can this american policy makers repay my money. I have spend from my pocket. why all country people who are waiting for visa can make pressure on american economy to repay our money. Let them repay the money and leave us. It is all because of that i am suffering.
I am a Malayali. What should i call them. There is very suitable words in malayalam to call them. Am i right all mallus?
yes johny… that is right
scenario:
he signed a contract with an employer in the USA and with the retrogression going on, he thought of applying to other countries.
do you guys think this is smart?
I agree with johney .I too payed all from my pocket, its really so bad to wait another one year .Daily morning wake up with so much expectations and when checking this blog i realise there is nothing special and good for us.this is my routiene now.Still i dont feel to leave this blog.
Why cant we fight against this bad american rules,we can have an association and i think we could do something against this.Make sure that nobody tries for NCLEX,nobody is trappd by the recriting agency.Bcoz still few agencies try nurses to trap inthis bad situation .We must there to give awareness to those nurses .
Dear All,
I am also a persone waiting for US to issue more visa for nurses. Pls note that its not fair all of u to blame US for this scenario. All country got their own rules and regulation. U spend money for NCLEX and etc: It doesn’t mean that US have to give u visa. Nobody pushing you to come to US other than u want to come. Then y r u blaming US? Pls be patient and we all pray together to God to sort out this scenarioo.

HI HELLO,
Every body worried about this and that, try to look on a mirror ,you and me not getting younger,IF you wooried so much you are the looser not america stop saying about usa needs/and or lack of nurses.
this is a money making country, simple addition, you pay for your nclex and renew, your tse+toefel=visa screen and renew if expire, your cgfns , your visa bill fees , and money money more.
hey god bless us you are correct usa did not force us to go to usa,
wow are you blind , the same as an addict if you start using it you will never stop until the last money you have,
if you apply/take nclex/visa screen/etc if they will expire and it will , what will you do not to renew them, put it in your treasure box. wow !
Make life more simple no visa then wait for our turn.
Your country , your family , your current job needs you then love and enjoy what you have.
IF you really wants to work overseas very simple apply to a country were visa is available(try canada,uk,middle east, etc)
if you all wont stop worrying and when your usa visa comes you will be so sorry, to much worry might kill you.
HI HELLO,
I HOPE AND PRAY FOR ALL,
GOD GAVE US A BRAIN USE IT WISELY.
LET US THINK THAT IN EVERY PROBLEM
- GOD IS THE ANSWER.
NOT YOU ME OR ANY BODY ELSE STOP
DAY DREAMING.stop wasting our money and time just let it be.
EVERY BODY NEEDS TO
GO
WORK
EARN A DOLLAR
BUT BE PATIENT
WAIT FOR OUR TURN.
ENJOY WHAT YOU HAVE
NEVER EVER COUNT
WHAT YOU DO NOT HAVE.AMEN.
hai god bless u and danilo,
i agree with you both, for everything there is a time to laugh and not to laugh ,to work and not to work, to cry and not to cry,to smile and not to smile,,……….same like that ….for visa retrogression and relief of retrogression….wait for the good day… this is your time to live happily with your family, your parents, bro’s sis’s and all ,,,,,,,,we are the kings in our country atleast in your village/town/city.because it is your country..where ever you go you will be a second grade citizen only.remember it… of course we have to look for a better future, but remember everything in usa willnot be a silky consistancy ,there will be thorns also,,when the most appropriate time will comes THE LORD ALMIGHTY will open the door for you,
IT’S LIKE NOAH AND ANIMALS WERE INSIDE THE SHIP TILL THE RAINING FINISH ,WHEN THE EVNT AND CLIMATE TURNED GOOD GOD OPENED THE DDOR FOR THEM TO GO OTU,
so when your turn comes god will give you visa ,
TRUST IN THE LORD YOU WILL SEE THE GLORY OF GOD
MAY GOD BLESS YOU
Plz any one tell me that CGFNS or NCLEX license valid in CANADA????????
Or any other country???????????
plz tell me in detail…………..
Any information regarding any meetings?????????
happy new year to all!
i agree with Kochu and Danilo and other optimistic people. i myself sometimes i cant help it, i feel discouraged. but i know that i cannot do anything with it so it is better to trust in the Lord and be still. coz when we rest in the Lord and not wrestle that will be the time when the answer will come. so be let us be patient and pray harder. Let us also acknowledge that GOD is SOVEREIGN and HE is in CONTROL! the retrogression will be lifted soon. Let us have the faith like Abraham had. God bless us all!

PLEASE READ THIS
Greetings! I am a nurse from the Philippines , took IELTS April of 2005 followed by NCLEX for California , USA last September 2005 which fortunately I both pass. I worked with Philippine Heart Center for Asia as a Cardiovascular Nurse for 2 years and presently employed at Kaplan Test Prep still in the Philippines .
Right now, I am planning to take the Nursing Licensure Examination for British Columbia . I have seen and reviewed the requirements but before I proceed with completing all that you require, I would like first to clarify some things:
1. Is a reciprocity possible considering that I have already pass the NCLEX Exam for California ?
2. Are there changes with the requirements in case reciprocity is applicable?
HERE IS THE ANSWER TO THAT QUERY:
We do not have a reciprocity process for nurses in the U. S. Therefore, you are still required to write the CRNE as an applicant with a registration in the U. S.
I hope that clarifies your concerns,
hai, today,i have seen an advertisement that we can go to usa for education with 4 years visa.we can also work there as r.n.if i go throgh this what will be the impact?
can anyone comment on th
is?devu.
Hi Johny and Neenu.
Some time we are sick of reading such comments as it is very cheap.I think no one else has got any right to decide or interfere in others business. American’s have the full right to decide whether they should allow other nationalities to come and immigrate /or work in their country. It is their country and their decision . Who has got the right to criticise them . You at least thank them for giving you a chance. They didn’t personally approach you and requested U to give this exams or undergo such ordeals . It’s purely your decision. so stop blaming others and wait for your chance.Don’t be so cheeeeeeeeeeeap .Keep some dignity.
Good Luck
Hi Hello,
Did i tell you that to much worrying might kill you, what is the purpose of your visa if your a dead looser.

Again again and again, pls stop and look and listen , what ever your religion pls seek GODs wisdom and have faith in your GOD.

Hi Hello
Pls LORD OUR GOD HEAL OUR SOUL
in the name of our LORD,AMEN.
The lack of visa status is painfull it really hurts from head to toes,
but if you or me add insult to injury thats evil.
Rather than insulting other people
false promisses and wrong information , they said , you said and me said bla bla bla.
at the end of the day you and me still standing at your own country, nothing changes.
SAME SAME SAME , seek ye first the kingdom of heaven and ask your GOD our GOD.
pls advice others in a decent productive ideas do not make your life in hell.
Good luck and pls pray, GOD BLESS TO ALL.
Also, remember, what makes u to feel to go to USA..? B’coz of ur countries financial circumstances. I am from India and my country got independence 50 years ago and all of bloody Indian politician are spoiled my country by stealing all state money and now I forced to leave my country to have a good life. But none of u want to blame ur bloody politicians for making you to work and live another country; but u blame USA for not giving u a visa…!! Still u glorify congress or CPM or BJP and even u don’t mind Sonia (a white european) to rule you…(Remember, Americans never allow a foriegner to become their president).
So, its our country politicians ruined our future; not american government. If our politicians were correct, our country would have been singapore or America…Don’t you know that..? So, go back to your politician and friends and talk to them about our correpted politics…blame them for trying to make a foreigner our PM. AND STOP ABUSING AMERICA. THEY ARE GIVING AROUND 10000 VISA’S TO INDIA every year and the problem is our applicants are more than issued visa. That is the reasone we r back logged…Not becoz of US govt.
Other thing, the reasone for failing to attach a nurses amemndment last october becoz of Californian nurses association’s lobbying. In USA, Californian nurses association is very strong; and they have influence in American politics as well. Bad thing is very strong senator and speaker Nancy is from California and we cannot expect a favour from her as it will effect her votes. But remember HLG’s blog saying that Nancy was optimist to pass a nurses visa bill in first quarter of this year….” So, let us hope for best and KEEP ON PRAY TO GOD.(Pray a novena to St Jude will help a lot…I am sure…!!)
Rgds
To God Bless us :
I am sorry i dont want to become rude to u & the people who think like that.
I am not a politician.
If u r saying that because of them u r leaving country please dont fool ur self & people.the reality is that who so ever want to leave country they only want to make money & want to live in developed countries.
U KNOW VERY WELL WHO CHOOSE POLITICIANS IN INDIA.
IT IS ONLY THE PEOPLE LIKE U & ME WHO CAN CHANGE THE THINGS
I give u the big eg of Ms Kiran Bedi the 1st indian police lady & she is still fighiting with the system who is corrupt,if u know what happened in delhi in flyover
in case of opening of flyover.
“INDIA” is a big potential market for developed countries all over the world see the IT.RETAIL boom
To God bless YOu.
Shame on you!
Your PM is not that Sonia
But Dr. Manmohan Sing, that greatest economist/ CEO of the world. The market has 10% growth. Everybody is flooding money in India. becaus emerging economy.. BSE has greatest growth last year.. Think of your neighbouring countries..what is happening there..
At least you can change your politicians in every 5 years..
Buy a TATA NANO with just $. 2500 and enjoy your life there, before you reach the would be recession country US.
Legal Immigrants Facing a Longer Wait
Because of an unprecedented surge in immigration applications last summer, legal immigrants will have to wait much longer during the next two years to receive visas or naturalization papers, the top official of the federal agency that issues those documents said Thursday.
In a statement before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration, the official, Emilio T. Gonzalez, the director of Citizenship and Immigration Services, said that from now until 2010 the agency would take an average of 18 months to process petitions from legal immigrants for citizenship, up from 7 months or less last year. Visas for permanent residents sponsored by relatives in the United States will take one year, up from the current average of six months or less, he said.
pls. see this link:

I’m also a nurse waiting for my visa. I have a previously approve I140 petition with a priority date of December 2001. I got a copy of the approval notice just before my agency declared bankruptcy in 2002. Im working as a nurse in one of the US territory since 2003 and sign up for another agency whom promised me to just continue or recapture my old priority date. I was wondering why they got me a new PD which is dated 2006 so I decided to contact my lawyer directly and just learned from him that they are not aware of my 2001 PD. He then wrote a letter of request to NVC to recapture my previous PD and was sent out December 19 last year. Some people told me that even though the current date on visa bulletin is 2002 I still have to wait for retrogression to be lifted before a visa is available to me. Can anyone give me some advice? I have a pending application in New Zealand & they are just waiting for my new IELTS since mine is more than 2 years old. I’m still thinking if I’ll go ahead and take the IELTS again or just wait for the decision of NVC regarding my 2001 PD.
Every one says Yes Johny you are right. If we keep on waiting on something nothing will happen. What i am planning to do now is to write to our foreign minister to take this issue with the US govt. We dont want anything. we want our money back that is the issue i am going to take. Please send me your mail ids so that the drafted letter can be forwarded to all an case you can also add flavor with the letter. We are demanding the money back. This Americans are scared of everything.
Let us try;
Let all come together for fightin=g for our right
Our hard earned money. and not deposited in Bank for 12 % fixed deposit
All the best. Pl reply all.
After all the broken promises brought to us by the democrats(that they’d be pro-immigrant/solve immigration problems), one cannot fully take the side of a democrat or republican(for congress or senate).
I wish there is a published list of these representatives and senators who are not “PRO-SCHEDULE A” so that nurses, PTs, hospital organizations and concerned families abroad be wary of these people, so as not to put them into office ever again. There should also be a “PRO-SCHEDULE A” list of congressmen and senators so that people may vote for them.
Now comes another election, but this time for the US president.
Can somebody provide us factual information of where these presidentiables stand? We all want to know who are “PRO-SCHEDULE A” candidates and who are “ANTI-SCHEDULE A” candidates?
they will make promises again so that people will be voting for them. after the election, all the promises will just be pure promises. nothing will happen. Politicians are like that!!!
To JACE:
Hi. We are on the same boat, i got a PD in 2001, then it was dissolved last 2006 by my petitioner. I have a new petitioner who filed for a new petition but instead of recapturing the old one, my new PD is 2007. Were you able to recapture your old PD? By the way i am also working in one of the US territories. Pls advise. thanks.
Hi no hope
Hello everyone
Is it TRUE…?
someone told me
Dont expect anything until 2010
You Indians/chines/philinas are the over users on everything
Ha ha
hello every one
iam frm england and my wife is wating for us visa for 3 years nw here is a bad news 4 all us . noting will happen untill 2010, at present sitvation no one can say it will lift on 2010 bcoz ecnomic condition and the political contions in us r like that
The only thing that the US do with haste is when they increase fees of nursing exams and certificates. It seems that all they want to do is cash in on the american dream and COLLECT, COLLECT, COLLECT!!!!! MONEY, MONEY, MONEY!!!By the looks of the backlog and all, it seems that they have no real intention to admit these intending immigrants anytime soon.
I have cleared CGFNS and IELTS. I got my Visa Screen Certificate too last year, validity upto 2011. Is there any need to take the IELTS exam again to renew the visa screen if it expire ? Anybody have any answer about it ?
Hi suma,
No need to take IELTS again. There is a provision to renew Visa Screen. But CGFNS can change their laws & views anytime. Take care
I am in US,
and My I-140 is already approved,
I am working in a Hospital too bu renewing my EAD.
Can anyone tell me how long I have to wait for my Green card??
