we really wish Congress acts in the Lameduck Session atleast for the Schedule A and Advance Degree Holders to begin with

the system is clearly broken…congress needs to get its act together now or risk being permanently tarred with the label of “Do Nothing” Congress

Resolving the RETROGRESSION CRISIS will help foreign healthcare workers to fulfill their ‘American Dream’….

….but more importantly, it will help resolve the HEALTHCARE SHORTAGE currently experienced by citizens in the US.

I therefore conclude that it will be a WIN-WIN solution for both the healthcare workers and the US citizens to resolve this retrogression problem as soon as possible. To the Congressmen and Senators: PLEASE ACT NOW!

What would be the effect of this on the retrogression problem? We hope this will help make immigrant visas for nurses available again very very soon. The December visa bulletin is very frustrating.

The 65k limit was imposed as a result of a poor economy and job market. Those days are over and there is a genuine need for highly skilled tech workers.. its a matter that is being purely neglected by Congress due to other important issues like Iraq etc..

yes, the retrogression should be lifted as soon as possible. I am in my packet III now and just waiting for my embassy interview. unfortunately, the retrogression caught me up which delays my departure. In God’s time, this problem will be solved. I have a positive feeling that the congress will realize the need of the US for skilled foreign workers.

hi ! please post when is that lame duck session ?

thanks . we physical therapists all over the world are disappointed with this retrogression news.

if SKIL Bill is too complex to handle during this lame duck session, can they not grant something like the previous immediate solution to sked A workers, e.g. another set of recaptured visas (either 50k or 100k at least)

hate to say this, but my feeling is that legislators will not show any special exception for schedule A..they made an exception especially for us last year, and can’t do it again for us without being discriminatory toward other industries that also need skilled workers….besides the Tech and University lobby is too powerful…best bet is to ride on the Skil bill

I just hope congress atleast acts this time
“do something congress”
not
” do nothing congress”
sad to see congress has time to discuss ” how Christmas Tree is important for american business” rather than deal with the Retro Issue

Hello Hammond LLC
can we expect any developments in Jan 07 at least

thanks

looks like no appropriation bills will be taken up in lame duck session.
Our next hope is 110th congress in Januray, but a legislation there on SKIL bill or CIR will take time and lot of media discussions.

is it possible for the congress to discuss this matter sometime this december?

For Schedule A
it is better to forget about Skill Bill and CIR, since it takes a lot of time to pass.

For Schedule A, it is better to extend Visas to the earlier allocation of 50,000 Visas

Since Ex-Visas were actually 130,000 from 2001 to 2004, still that 80,000 Remains. It can be allotted again to extend to 80,000
